Mesothelioma is the name of the cancer that is formed when an individual gets exposed to asbestos. The asbestos exposure could be through inhalation or touch. In an asbestos mining site, there are several thousand asbestos dust particles in the air, and even if you inhale a little bit of it, it could lead to severe health problems. Once you have inhaled the asbestos particle, it will evaporate and enter into your lungs and spread throughout the chest cavity. In the long run, the asbestos exposure enables cancerous cells to develop in the outer lining of your internal organs. Smoking tobacco or marijuana makes the medical condition worsen over a shorter period of time. If you have been exposed to asbestos and you are a smoker, the cancer developing period is shortened. If you are an asbestos mining worker, it is recommended to get tested through biopsy to see if you have been exposed.
I need some mesothelioma facts?
I need some mesothelioma facts. My brother has past exposure to asbestos from mining and it seems like he has mesothelioma. I need to know what his prospects are and what we can do about legal action
Hello Peter
Sorry to hear about your brother’s health problem.. Mesothelioma is a slow developing and fatal disease. It is a lung cancer that will spread to other parts of the body. It can affect the lungs, the abdomen and heart. Asbestos exposure is the most common cause of mesothelioma. Asbestos used to be found in building supplies. It’s use was all but stopped from the mid 1970′s, but because it is slow to develop, the cases of mesothelioma were started decades before then.
There have been many successful cases against asbestos mining companies and building material manufacturers. Idon’t know if your brother would be able to join a class action, which presents a stronger case?
There’s a good source of legal advice at this blog:
Hope this helps.
